1For we know that if our earthly house of [this] tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2For indeed in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our dwelling-place out of Heaven; 3if indeed [in] being clothed, we shall not be found naked. 4For we who are in [this] tabernacle groan, being burdened; inasmuch as we do not wish to be unclothed, but to be clothed, so that the mortal might be swallowed up by the life. 5And He who has worked in us for this same thing [is] God, who also [is] giving to us the earnest of the Spirit. 6Then being always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body, we are away from home from the Lord; 7for we walk by faith, not by sight; 8then we are confident and we are pleased rather to go away from home out of the body, and to come home to the Lord. 9Therefore we are also laboring to be well-pleasing to Him, whether at home or away from home. 10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive the things done] through the body, according to that which he has done, whether good or bad. 11Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men. But we are revealed to God, and I trust also that we are revealed in your consciences. 12For we do not commend ourselves again to you, but are giving you occasion to glory on our behalf, so that you may have [it] to [answer] those boasting in appearance, and not in heart. 13For if we are out of our mind, [it is] to God; or [if] we are in our senses, [it is] for you. 14For the love of Christ constrains us, judging this, that if one died for all, then all died; 15and He died for all, that the living ones may live no more to themselves, but to Him who died for them and having been raised. 16So as we now know no one according to flesh, but even if we have known Christ according to flesh, yet now we no longer know [Him so. 17So that if any one [is] in Christ, [that one is] a new creature; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18And all things [are] of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19whereas God was in Christ reconciling [the] world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and putting the word of reconciliation in us. 20Then we are ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as God exhorting through us, we beseech [you] on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21For He has made Him who knew no sin, [to be] sin for us, that we might become [the] righteousness of God in Him.
