1And Job continued the lifting up of His speech, and said, 2[As] God lives, He has taken away my judgment; and the Almighty has made my soul bitter. 3As long as my breath [is] in me, and the spirit of God [is] in my nostrils, 4my lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit. 5Far be it from me that I should justify you; until I die I will not retract my integrity from me. 6I hold fast by my righteousness, and I will not let it go; my heart shall not shame me [any] of my days. 7Let my enemy be like the wicked, and he who rises up against me as the perverse. 8For what [is] the hope of the ungodly when He cuts off, when God takes away his soul? 9Will God hear his cry when trouble comes on him? 10Will he delight himself in the Almighty? Will he always call on God? 11I will teach you by the hand of God; that which [is] with the Almighty I will not hide. 12Behold, all you have seen [it] yourselves; why then do you become completely vain? 13This [is] the portion of a wicked man with God, and the inheritance of cruel men [which] they shall receive from the Almighty. 14If his sons are multiplied, [the] sword [is] for them; and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread. 15Those who remain of him shall be buried in death; and his widows shall not weep. 16Though he heaps up silver like the dust, and prepares clothing like the clay, 17he may prepare, but the just shall put [it] on, and the innocent shall divide the silver. 18He builds his house like a moth, and like a booth [that] a watchman makes. 19The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered. He opens his eyes, and he [is] not. 20Terrors overtake him like waters; a tempest steals him away in the night. 21The east wind lifts him up, and he is gone; for it whirls him out of his place. 22For it will hurl at him, and will not spare; he will surely flee out of its hand. 23He shall clap His hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.
