He became the father of Kenan. 10After he became the father of Kenan, Enosh lived eight hundred and fifteen years and had other sons and daughters. 11Enosh lived a total of nine hundred and five years, and then he died. 12Kenan lived seventy years. He became the father of Mahalalel. 13After that Kenan lived eight hundred and forty years and had other sons and daughters. 14Altogether, Kenan lived nine hundred and ten years, and then he died. 15When Mahalalel lived sixty-five years, he became the father of Jared. 16After he became the father of Jared, Mahalalel lived eight hundred and thirty years and had other sons and daughters. 17Mahalalel lived a total of eight hundred and ninety-five years, and then he died. 18When Jared lived one hundred and sixty-two years, he became the father of Enoch. 19After he became the father of Enoch, Jared lived eight hundred years and had other sons and daughters. 20Jared lived a total of nine hundred and sixty-two years, and then he died. 21When Enoch lived sixty-five years, he became the father of Methuselah. 22After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years and had other sons and daughters. 23Altogether, Enoch lived three hundred and sixty-five years. 24Enoch walked with God. Then he was no more, because God took moved him away. 25When Methuselah lived one hundred and eighty-seven years, he became the father of Lamech. 26After he became the father of Lamech, Methuselah lived seven hundred eighty-two years and had other sons and daughters. 27Altogether, Methuselah lived nine hundred and sixty-nine years, and then he died. 28When Lamech had lived one hundred and eighty-two years, he had a son. 29He named him Noah. He said: »He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground Jehovah has cursed.« 30After Noah was born, Lamech lived five hundred and ninety-five years and had other sons and daughters. 31Lamech lived a total of seven hundred seventy-seven years, and then he died. 32After Noah was five hundred years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
