1Preparations of the heart and the answer of the tongue, is from Jehovah. 2All the ways of a man are pure clean in his own eyes. But Jehovah weighs the motives. 3Commit your works to Jehovah and your thoughts will be firmly established. 4Jehovah made all things for himself even the wicked one for the evil day. 5Every one proud in heart is an abomination to Jehovah. Though they unite they will all be punished. 6Sin is atoned by loving kindness and truth. Respect for Jehovah keeps one away from evil. 7When a man's ways please Jehovah he makes even his enemies live in peace with him. 8Better to be poor with righteousness than rich with injustice. 9A man's heart determines his way. Jehovah directs his steps. 10The king speaks divine words. He does not transgress justice. 11Honest scales and balances are from Jehovah. He sets the standard for the weights of the bag. 12It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness for the throne is established by righteousness. 13Righteous lips are the delight of kings. They love the man who speaks what is right. 14Anger from a king is the messenger of death, but a wise man will placate it. 15The light of the king's face causes life. His favor is like a gentle rain in spring. 16How much better to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding instead of silver! 17The highway of the upright departs from evil. He who guards his way preserves his life. 18Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. 19It is better to be humble and lowly than to divide the spoil with the proud. 20He who handles a matter wisely will find good. Trust in Jehovah and be happy. 21The wise in heart will be called sensible. The sweetness of the lips increases learning. 22Understanding is a wellspring of life to the man who has it. But the instruction of fools is folly. 23The heart of the wise teaches his mouth. It adds learning to his lips. 24Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweetness to life, and health to the bones. 25There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end is the way of death! 26He who works labors for himself. His hungry mouth spurs him on. 27An ungodly man digs up evil. It lies on his lips like a burning fire. 28A perverse man sows discord. A whisperer separates good friends. 29A violent man entices his neighbor and leads him in bad ways. 30He shuts his eyes to devise perversity. He moves his lips to bring evil. 31Gray hair is a crown of glory when it is found in the way of righteousness. 32Being slow to anger is better than being mighty. Being self-controlled is better than ruling a city. 33The lot is cast into the lap. But every decision is from Jehovah.
