1Do not be bothered by evildoers. Do not envy those who do wicked things. 2They will quickly dry up like grass and whither away like green plants. 3Trust Jehovah and do good things. Live in the land, and practice being faithful. 4Be happy with Jehovah and he will provide you with the desires of your heart. 5Dedicate your life to Jehovah. Trust him, and he will act on your behalf. 6He will cause your righteousness to shine like a light, your just cause like the noonday sun. 7Surrender to Jehovah and wait patiently for him. Do not be preoccupied with an evildoer who succeeds in his way when he carries out his schemes. 8Let go of anger, and leave rage behind. Do not be agitated with anger and jealousy. It only leads to evil. 9For evildoers will be destroyed, but those who wait for Jehovah will inherit the land. 10A short time from now the wicked man will be no more. You will look carefully for his place and he will not be there. 11The meek gentlemildhumble will inherit the earth and will delight in the abundance 0f peace. 12The wicked plots against the righteous and grinds at him with his teeth. 13Jehovah laughs at him, for he sees that his day will come. 14The wicked have drawn the sword and bent their bow to throw down the afflicted and the needy, to slay those who are upright in conduct. 15Their sword will enter their own heart. Their bows will be broken. 16Better is the little of the righteous than the abundance of many wicked. 17The arms of the wicked will be broken, but Jehovah sustains the righteous. 18Jehovah knows the days of the blameless. Their inheritance will be forever. 19They will not be ashamed in the time of evil. In the days of famine they will have abundance. 20But the wicked will perish! The enemies of Jehovah will be like the glory of the pastures. They vanish, like smoke they vanish away. 21The wicked borrows and does not pay back. But the righteous is gracious and gives. 22Those blessed by him will inherit the land. But those cursed by him will be destroyed. 23Jehovah directs a person's steps and Jehovah delights in his way. 24When he falls, he will not be thrown down headfirst because Jehovah holds on to his hand. 25I have been young, and now I am old, but I have never seen a righteous person abandoned or his descendants begging for food. 26He is always generous and lends freely. His descendants are a blessing. 27Turn away from evil, do good, and live forever. 28Jehovah loves justice, and he will not abandon his godly ones. They will be kept safe forever, but the descendants of the wicked will be destroyed. 29The righteous will inherit seizetake possession of the earth, and dwell on it forever in perpetuity. 30The mouth of the righteous reflects on wisdom. His tongue speaks what is fair. 31The law of his God is in his heart. His steps do not waver slip. 32The wicked spies upon the righteous and seeks to kill him. 33Jehovah will not leave him in his hand or let him be condemned when he is judged. 34Wait for Jehovah and keep his way and he will exalt you to inherit the earth. You will see it when the wicked are destroyed. 35I have seen a wicked, violent man spreading himself like a luxuriant tree in its native soil. 36Then he passed away, and lo, he was no more. I searched for him, but he could not be found. 37Mark the blameless man, and behold the upright. His future will be filled with peace. 38But transgressors will be altogether destroyed. The posterity of the wicked will be destroyed. 39But the salvation of the righteous is from Jehovah. He is their strength in time of trouble. 40Jehovah helps them and delivers them. He delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take put their trust in Him.
