1I saw an angel come down from heaven. He had the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2He seized the dragon, the old serpent that is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3He hurled him into the bottomless pit, and shut it and sealed it over him. He could not deceive the nations anymore till the thousand years ended. After that he must be let loose for a little while. 4I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. I also saw the people who were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image. They had not received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands. They lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were finished. Not found in older manuscripts. This is the first resurrection. 6Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them. They shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall rule as kings with him for the thousand years. 7When the thousand years end, Satan will be let loose out of his prison. 8Satan will go out to deceive the nations that are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle. The number of these is as the sand of the sea too great to count. 9They advanced over the broad plain of the earth, and encircled the camp of the holy ones, and the beloved city. Fire came down out of heaven and devoured consumed them. 10The devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are, and will be tormented day and night forever. 11I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it. From before him the earth and heaven fled away. There was found no place for them. 12I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God. The books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged according to the things written in the books, according to their works. 13The sea gave up the dead in it. Death and the grave delivered up the dead in them. Every man was judged according to his works. 14Death and the grave were hurled into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15Whoever was not found written in the book of life was hurled thrustthrown into the lake of fire.
