1Remind them to be in subjection to rulers and to authorities, to be obedient, and to be ready to do every good work, 2to speak evil of no man, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all meekness toward all men. 3For we also once were foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. 4When the kindness of God our Savior, and his love toward man, appeared, 5not by works done in righteousness, which we did, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration restorationspiritual rebirth and renewing renovation of the Holy Spirit. 6He poured Spirit out upon us richly, through Jesus Christ our Savior. 7Being justified by his grace loving kindness, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8Faithful is the saying, and concerning these things I desire that you affirm confidently, to the end that they who have believed God may be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men. 9You should avoid foolish arguing and dissentions, questioning; and genealogies, and arguing about law, for they are unprofitable and vain. 10A divisive and dissentious man should be admonished, and after two times have nothing to do with that man. 11You know that man sins and is perverted. He is self-condemned. 12When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, give diligence to come to me at Nicopolis where I will winter. 13Send Zenas, the lawyer, and Apollos on their journey quickly and see that they lack nothing. 14Help our people learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they are not unfruitful. 15All that are with me greet you. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.
