1A Psalm; a Song at the Dedication of the House. [A Psalm] of David. I will extol you, O Yahweh; for you have raised me up, And have not made my foes to rejoice over me. 2O Yahweh my God, I cried to you, and then you healed me. 3O Yahweh, you have brought up my soul from Sheol; You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. 4Sing praise to Yahweh, O you{+} saints of his, And give thanks to his holy memorial [name]. 5For his anger is but for a moment; His favor is for a lifetime: Weeping may spend the night, But joy [comes] in the morning. 6As for me, I said in my prosperity, I will not be moved--forever. 7You, Yahweh, of your favor had made my mountain to stand strong: You hid your face; I was troubled. 8To you, O Yahweh, I will cry; And to the Lord I will plead for mercy: 9What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it declare your truth? 10Hear, O Yahweh, and have mercy on me: Yahweh, be my helper. 11You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have loosed my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; 12So that glory will sing praise to you, and not be silent. O Yahweh my God, I will give thanks to you--forever.
