1And I lifted up my eyes, and looked, and saw a man with a measuring line in his hand. 2Then I said, Where are you going? And he said to me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its width, and what is its length. 3And, look, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him, 4and said to him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem will be inhabited as villages without walls, by reason of the multitude of man and cattle in her. 5For I, says Yahweh, will be to her a wall of fire round about, and I will be the glory in the midst of her. 6Ho, ho, flee from the land of the north, says Yahweh; for I have spread you{+} abroad as the four winds of the heavens, says Yahweh. 7Ho Zion, escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon. 8For this is what Yahweh of Hosts says: After glory he has sent me to the nations which plundered you{+}; for he who touches you{+} touches the apple of my eye. 9For, look, I will shake my hand over them, and they will be a spoil to their slaves; and you{+} will know that Yahweh of hosts has sent me. 10Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion; for, look, I come, and I will stay in the midst of you, says Yahweh. 11And many nations will join themselves to Yahweh in that day, and will be my people; and I will stay in the midst of you, and you will know that Yahweh of hosts has sent me to you. 12And Yahweh will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and will yet choose Jerusalem. 13Be silent, all flesh, before Yahweh; for he has awakened out of his holy habitation.
