1And Jehovah spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying: 2Everyone of the sons of Israel shall encamp by his own standard, next to the emblems of his fathers house; they shall encamp at a distance from the tent of meeting. 3On the east side, toward the rising of the sun, those of the standard of the camp of Judah shall encamp according to their hosts; and Nahshon the son of Amminadab shall be the captain of the sons of Judah: 4and his army was numbered at seventy-four thousand six hundred. 5Those who encamp next to him shall be the tribe of Issachar; and Nethanel the son of Zuar shall be the captain of the sons of Issachar: 6and his army was numbered at fifty-four thousand four hundred. 7Then, the tribe of Zebulun; and Eliab the son of Helon shall be the captain of the sons of Zebulun: 8and his army was numbered at fifty-seven thousand four hundred. 9All who were numbered according to their hosts with the camp of Judah, one hundred and eighty-six thousand four hundred: these shall set out first. 10On the south side shall be the standard of the camp of Reuben according to their hosts; and the captain of the sons of Reuben shall be Elizur the son of Shedeur: 11and his army was numbered at forty-six thousand five hundred. 12Those who encamp next to him shall be the tribe of Simeon; and the captain of the sons of Simeon shall be Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai: 13and his army was numbered at fifty-nine thousand three hundred. 14Then, the tribe of Gad; and the captain of sons of Gad shall be Eliasaph the son of Reuel: 15and his army was numbered at forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty. 16All who were numbered according to their hosts of the camp of Reuben, one hundred and fifty-one thousand four hundred and fifty: they shall set out second. 17And the tent of meeting shall set out with the camp of the Levites in the middle of the camps. As they encamp, so they shall set out, everyone in his place, by their standards. 18On the west side shall be the standard of the camp of Ephraim according to their hosts; and the captain of the sons of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of Ammihud: 19and his army was numbered at forty thousand five hundred. 20Next to him, the tribe of Manasseh; and the captain of the sons of Manasseh shall be Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur: 21and his army was numbered at thirty-two thousand two hundred. 22Then, the tribe of Benjamin; and the captain of the sons of Benjamin shall be Abidan the son of Gideoni: 23and his army was numbered at thirty-five thousand four hundred. 24All who were numbered according to their hosts of the camp of Ephraim, one hundred and eight thousand one hundred: they shall set out third. 25The standard of the camp of Dan shall be on the north side according to their hosts; and the captain of the sons of Dan shall be Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai: 26and his army was numbered at sixty-two thousand seven hundred. 27Those who encamp next to him shall be the tribe of Asher; and the captain of the sons of Asher shall be Pagiel the son of Ocran: 28and his army was numbered at forty-one thousand five hundred. 29Then, the tribe of Naphtali; and the captain of the sons of Naphtali shall be Ahira the son of Enan: 30and his army was numbered at fifty-three thousand four hundred. 31All who were numbered of the camp of Dan, one hundred and fifty-seven thousand six hundred: they shall set out last, with their standards. 32These are the ones who were numbered of the sons of Israel by their fathers houses. All who were numbered according to their hosts of the camps were six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty. 33But the Levites were not numbered among the sons of Israel, as Jehovah had commanded Moses. 34And the sons of Israel did according to all that Jehovah had commanded Moses: Thus they encamped by their standards and thus they set out, each one with his family, according to their fathers houses.
