1In Jehovah I put my trust; how can you say to my soul, Flee like a bird to the mountains? 2For lo, the wicked bend their bow; they make ready their arrow on the string, so that they may secretly shoot at the upright in heart. 3If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? 4Jehovah is in His holy temple; Jehovah’s throne is in Heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids examine the sons of men. 5Jehovah tries the righteous; but His soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence. 6Upon the wicked He will rain snares, fire and brimstone; and a horrible tempest shall be the portion of their cup. 7For the righteous Jehovah loves righteousness; His face beholds the upright.
