1Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have enlarged me in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. 2O you sons of men, how long will you turn My glory into shame? Will you love vanity and seek after falsehood? Selah. 3But know that Jehovah has set apart the godly for Himself. Jehovah hears when I call unto Him. 4Tremble, and sin not; commune within your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. 5Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and trust in Jehovah. 6There are many who say, Who will show us any good? Jehovah, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us. 7You have put gladness in my heart, more than during the time when their grain and their wine increased. 8I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, Jehovah, make me dwell in safety.
